Sovereign wealth funds on the hunt


“[Funds] are researching deals and trying to get things lined up,” says R.P. Eddy, CEO of Ergo, a research firm that advises some of the world’s biggest sovereign wealth funds. “They’re standing on the edge of the pool and waiting to see who’s going to jump in first.”

The Bad News: Consumer credit falls for 11th straight month


Consumer credit declined in December for the 11th straight month, but the pace slowed considerably, according to a government report released Friday.

Total consumer borrowing fell a seasonally adjusted $1.8 billion, an annual rate of 0.8%, to $2.456 trillion in December, according to the Federal Reserve…
